Food Security
2023 - Present
For the past few years, rainfall has been unreliable in the school catchment area, which has decreased crop production and caused food insecurity. Our Food Security Project was launched to address this critical need in the community. Funds are used to purchase maize and other staple foods to provide one meal a day to students and staff at Kaombe Secondary School, helping to ease the financial burden on families and support students' well-being. The school also uses funds to grow their own maize to help sustain the meal program.

With food provided at school, families have one less meal to worry about, allowing them to allocate resources elsewhere, and children can stay in the classroom, rather than having to work to help support their families. By providing this daily meal, we’re not just improving nutrition but also ensuring that children can focus on their education. This project has a lasting impact on both the academic success of students and the economic stability of families, contributing to a more sustainable future for the entire community.
Amount Raised: Over $2,500 every year
