The Fence Project

​The Fence Project is the latest effort to improve the grounds of Kaombe Secondary School, providing much-needed security. During a site visit by Kaombe Relief Fund board members in the summer of 2024, local chiefs and the mayor communicated concerns that the school’s location just behind the Ntchisi Boma, or city center, made it an easy target for thieves and expressed the need for security improvements. The new fence helps protect school property and creates a safer environment for students and staff. Additionally, the school can station a groundskeeper at the entrance, further enhancing security and fostering a sense of safety and community within the school.
